Growing Hope Mobile Farm Stand
The Growing Hope Mobile Farm Stand expands points of fresh food access so that people with the greatest health inequities have equal opportunities to access fresh, affordable food. The Mobile Farm Stand not only improves access, but provides opportunities for engagement and education around purchasing and preparing seasonally available produce. The Farm Stand will set up weekly at three senior serving locations June-September for 1.5 hours each. These include Chidester Place Apartments, Clark East Towers, and one rotating senior Ypsilanti location (we are beginning conversations with Towne Centre, Gilbert Residences, Cross Street Village Senior Living, and Huron Valley PACE). Produce is grown at the Growing Hope Urban Farm and aggregated from local small farmers. Growing Hope staff sell the freshly harvested, seasonal produce while promoting food assistance including SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks, Prescription for Health, and Senior Project FRESH.
