Ypsilanti Mobile Farm Stand

Lack of mobility is one of the top barriers to access to healthy food in Washtenaw County. Growing Hope brings the Ypsilanti Mobile FarmStand to communities in need of access to healthy food. We’re excited to be in our fourth year in 2018! Should you have suggestions for our Mobile Farmstand, please share with us!

Our Mobile Farm Stand is committed to providing fresh and local produce to all income levels and accepts; SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks, Senior Project Fresh, and Prescription Health as means to pay.

The Farm Stand’s main goal is to bring fruits and vegetables to areas of the community that have limited access to fresh produce. In the Farm Stand’s first season there were over 1,300 visits to our Farm Stand locations.

The produce sold at the Farm Stand is sourced from Growing Hope’s own urban farm and our Ypsilanti Farmers Market vendors. From June to October we set up the Farm Stand at multiple weekly locations throughout Ypsilanti. We also plan for the farm stand to be at special events, and other locations where we can offer healthy food and test the interest, potentially leading to a longer term more permanent location.

Thanks to Toyota Motor North America and St. Joseph Mercy Health System for being our headline sponsors of the Mobile Farm Stand in 2017.
We also received generous support from DTE Energy Foundation, Washtenaw County Public Health through a Building Healthy Communities grant, and Eastern Michigan Non-Profit Leadership Alliance. Special thanks to Washtenaw Community College’s Construction and Technology Program for building the Mobile Farm Stand. We appreciate our partners  for stepping up to make sure this resource is able to serve our community!
