Joe Capuano, a local Boy Scout from Troop 290, has been working with the Growing Hope team to complete an Eagle Scout project. Joe became familiar with Growing Hope’s work as a volunteer for Youth Volunteer Corps, a summer camp through YMCA that takes teens to local-area nonprofits to volunteer throughout the summer. When it came time for Joe to complete his community service project to become an Eagle Scout, he reached out to Growing Hope as a potential partner site. Joe has since come up with design plans, submitted for proper approvals, and created a fundraising campaign that is currently accepting donations to help support the project.

Joe will be building some of our wishlist items, including a Little Free Library for the Ypsilanti Farmers Marketplace, and an additional Little Free Library and message board for Growing Hope Center.
