2016 marks the eighth year of Growing Hope’s Home Vegetable Garden (HVG) installation program. This spring, summer and fall, Growing Hope will work with 40 new gardeners to better understand the impact of small-space gardening on family food budgets, nutrition and quality of life. We help install raised bed vegetable gardens in these homes, give resources and support throughout the growing season, and offer free membership through our Growing Gardens Program.

Over the weekend, the Home Vegetable Gardeners attended a Garden Training Orientation at Growing Hope Center. During the 2 hour training, Growing Hope’s Farm Manager & Garden Programs Team walked through The 5 “P”s of Gardening with the new gardeners and demonstrated garden planning for raised bed vegetable gardens.
