Growing Hope is pleased to welcome Cynthia VanRenterghem as its new Executive Director, starting on May 29. Under her leadership, Growing Hope will continue to increase access to healthy food by growing core programs while serving emerging community needs.“Cynthia has demonstrated success in growing organizations while stabilizing operations and finances,” said Growing Hope Board Chair, Kerry Kafafian. “Her skills in the areas of strategic planning, project management, and marketing combined with her passion for gardening and economic development will launch Growing Hope into the future.”
VanRenterghem is succeeding founder Amanda Edmonds who retired at the end of 2017.
“Growing Hope has been dedicated to educating people of all ages about where their food comes from and making healthy food accessible to all people,” VanRenterghem said. “It is an honor and privilege to work with this incredible staff to continue its mission into the next 15 years. ”
Cynthia brings with her 25 years of experience in operations, business development, entrepreneurship, financial management, and project management. She has a life-long love of gardening and holds an MA from Johns Hopkins University and a BA from Hope College.
