Hopeful Herbs & Plant Sales
We earn revenue to support our mission through various social enterprise ventures including growing veggies and herbs for sale in local marketplaces. Our plant sales are helping people get growing, and support the free opportunities we make available for people who can't afford them.
Mark your calendar now for our spring Plant Sales! We'll have an early season sale on Tuesday, April 20th, 2-5pm at the Ypsi Senior Center as part of a pre-farmers' market season kickoff. Friday, April 30th from 4-8 pm and Saturday, May 1 from 10 am-4 pm is plant sale extravaganza at the Growing Hope Center. If you aren't quite ready to transplant before Mayday, we give you another opportunity at Plant Sale 2.0 on Saturday, May 15. Stay tuned to our calendar for details.
We'll also be having a plant sale again in later July for those of you wanting to start late-season crops for fall harvest. We know those seedlings are impossible to find at that time (we've never found them), so we'll be growing a bunch for ourselves and for sale to all of you.
Leading up to and during our Plant Sales, we need lots and lots of volunteer hands to care for, water, and transplant seedlings! Filling out a volunteer application is a first step to getting involved and getting your hands in the soil! You can even get growing earlier by participating in our Seed Starting Squad.
Did you know that you can buy veggie seedlings using food stamps? The best opportunity to do so is each Tuesday at our Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers Market beginning each year in May!
