Welcome to the Growing Hope Center

In December 2007, Growing Hope purchased a 1.4 acre property at 922 W. Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti—just blocks from downtown and adjacent to a public housing community—to put down roots for its headquarters and further demonstrate our commitment to growing positive and healthy futures in Southeast Michigan.

The development of the site into the Growing Hope Center envisions a year-round demonstration and training site for urban farming, sustainable gardening, and green building. When complete, the Center will be a tangible symbol of hope as Ypsilanti and our region move towards economic and community revitalization and amidst our shifting economy. 

A 1930s house on the property will hold the organization’s offices and teaching space and, through green rehabilitation, will showcase energy efficiency, creative reuse and sustainable building practices—all within an economically and racially diverse community.
